UPDATES KB885884 and KB834 WON'T INSTALL WIN XP HOME!!!

I have win xp home. I have SP2 but when I try to install the 2 updates I
get this answer and the updates don't install??? Can you help!!

"Critical Update for Office XP on Windows XP Service Pack 2 (KB885884)
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer for Windows XP Service Pack
2 (KB834707)"

First, ensure that XP SP2 is completely installed :
Go to Start, Run, type in
winver
Click OK or press Enter.

"If the version is "Version 5.1 (Build
2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158: Service Pack 2" then you have the
correct SP2 install. If, however, it has a number that is less than
040803 after the xpsp2, such as "Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633 :
Service Pack 2" then you definitely have a machine in the partially
installed state. " IF you find this is true, then follow the steps
here to uninstall and reinstall SP2 :

IF SP2 is completely installed, then go to the WINDOWS directory and
open the KB8885884.log and KB834707.log . Please post back with any
specific error codes you located . ( NOTE: LoadFileQueues:
SetupGetSourceFileLocation for halacpi.dll failed: 0xe0000102 is NOT
an error. )

Hi Mow

My version is "Version 5.1 (Build
2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158: Service Pack 2" so I assume I have the
correct SP2 installed.

BUT where do I find the KB8885884.log and KB834707.log
I typed it into search and it didn't find it?

Can you take me through how to locate the logs!

That log doesn't go into details of why the two updates failed.

Instead, in your windows folder, look for the two following logs:

KB885884.log
KB834707.log
