INstalled todays updates onto my laptop, then restarted as requested and the
thing now won't start, just goes through an endless cycle of disk checks. Got
into safe mode, but system restore is ineffective. The laptop runs Windows XP
and has had no problems until today. A totally wasted day in the office,
thanks guys. Why not make sure these things won't screw up pur systems before
release?

Make sure to send your laptop in with its unique setup before the next
release, please.
That's before every second tuesday of each month.

The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you research for
yourself before you take any advice - you are the one ultimately
responsible for your actions/problems/solutions. Know what you are
getting into before you jump in with both feet.

My laptop is also circling the drain after the autoupdate to XP. My destop
icons now "disappear" and "reappear", Acrobat Reader seems to be unhappy, IE
is slow as molasses, inputs are severely delayed, and I'm hamstrung as far as
getting my work done. Nice. Crippled laptop owners of the world unite!
