Updates that log as sucsessful but keep attempting to install repe

Hi

I have two updates that obviously are not installing or if they are windows
is not recognizing the fact

Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to remedy it?

Yes! I had the same problem as you and several other who have posted. I
thought it was me, not MS, and did a clean install of everything on the
machine thinking I might have some serious security issue-- took all day.
Still have the same problems and I've only seen one comment from MS
(reloading an HP printer driver). I'm amazed that MS is not all over this
with help! But then I'm a Mac user...

Hi,

I do have exactly the same problem (since january, 26th). Some times,
there's an message that the updates couldn't be installed and sometimes the
updates will be installed when I shut down the computer.
So I stopped the SQL server and all office applications before installing
the updates. I also often tried to install the updates directly from the
Microsoft update site (instaed of the automatic update). In all cases, after
the necessary restart the updates will be shown again.

This week, I tried to install the newest updates - they ALL didn't work. In
many single steps, I was able to install all the new updates without
KB924667. Here, I always get the error code 0x800736CC.

It seems that other updates do have the same problem - examples:

Hi:

I followed the procedure in the link in Kurt's message of 2/18/2007 11:10
PST and it worked. All I did was use add/remove programs and remove KB927987
(the other one was not there) and reinstall it. After the reboot running
Windows Update shows no new updates available.
