Updates not applying, Windows mail won't open

Computer Club member's two year old Dell with Windows Vista Home Premium.

The message received is: "Windows Update not configured correctly reverting
changes. Reverting Changes. Do not turn off."

Error message numbers were: 800F0902 and 8024200D

Thoughts?
