all required services are started except automatic updates. When I try to
start automatic updates it says error 1058 The service cannot be started
either because it is disabled or because there is no enabled devices
associated with it.

If it's dissabled, how do I enable it?
What enabled devices SHOULD be associated with it?

Hi Brutuskend,

Give this a try and see if it resolves the problem:

Go to Start>Run key in services.msc and click on OK or hit ENTER.
Right-click on Automatic Updates then select Properties. Click on the Log On
tab. In the Hardware Profile field (at the bottom), if the Service status is
Disabled for your Hardware Profile (probably is Original Configuration),
click to highlight the Hardware Profile in this field, then click on the
Enable button and then click on Apply. Now, click on the General tab and
click on Start under Service Status.

Hi everyone,

I've tried all the solutions that your guys suggested but I still can not
apply Automatic Update to Automatic. It's still shown the same error message.

Error 1058: The service cannot be started it is disable or because it has
enable devices associated with it.

I don't know what to do because Window Security Alerts mesage is keep
showing warning message. If anyone have another solution or some usefull site
please tell me. I'd be appreciated.

Regard,

Amnaj

Like Tom I also get this error. Did all the steps specified above. I did
notice under dependencies tab, there are no dependencies. Is that right?

Any help in resolving this error would be fantastic

I have exact same problem (give or take) to this. I tried following the
manual regsvr inputs but on the final one "regsvr32 wucltui.dll" I can an
error saying the binary couldn't be loaded. It's a bit annoying is this to
say the least.

Anyone got any suggestions before it drives me to drink?

Cheers all.
