Updates from October 12 - 9 of them

My internet explorer disappeared but when I rebooted it came back.
Now it is suddenly closing a page that I am on and saying that the
page can not be found. Also my computer has slowed way down
and I have Road Runner. Should I take out the download KB896688
and hope that that fixes the problem? Any help appreciated.
