Updates at Power off

My XP Pro has started updating automatically at shut down. I changed no
settings on my machine. How can I go back to having XP notify me of updates
and getting the yellow ! in the shield on the taskbar? I have this option
already checked in the automatic update window but it updates at shutdown.
HELP!

If you are using a limited account, you won't get the yellow shield or
be able to look at the updates.

I am already assigned as administrator and have admin privileges and this
happens with updates at power off.
