updates problem with windows xp

hello to all
i am from india.

i was updating my windows xp back time it was everything ok
but when i plan to update internet explorer i just press cansel to install
it later.
from that time i am not able to update any thing from microsoft site.

don't know why all update simply show me installtion failed every update.

what to do in case of this error?
i don't want to format and reinstall for this small problem created by me.
and please i have read all micro docs and tryed most of everything but this
hell of problem not leaving my pc.

can micro devlopers or leaders help me to fix this??
i can provide my micro licence key at pm only ..

If not, then install the latest Version of the Windows Update Agent
using the method laid out here:

If updates still will not install, then please post the *last*
50 or so lines of the WindowsUpdate.log, located in the WINDOWS
directory [folder].
Go to Start > Run > type in

%windir%\windowsupdate.log

Click OK or press Enter.
Scroll all the way to the bottom for the most recent entries.
Copy and paste the last 50 or so lines into your reply.
