Updates Stuck

1.) Update determined 5 updates necessary for XP Pro.
2.) I started them running.
KB912219 Ran to completion and
KB835732 Started.and ran to about 25% complete
3.) I left the computer running overnight, no more progress
4.) I clicked on CANCEL and got the message "Canceling Updates", three
hours ago and is just stuck. No disk activity, processor at 1% or so, lots
of memory available, internet works OK
Just Stuck.


Now when I try the updates I get an error saying none were applied, try from
the web site. The messages always say the updates have been downloaded
already.

I have tried this several times from the Update icon and also from the
Microsoft web site. Can I delete the downloaded updates and force a new
download?
