Updates suddenly started to FAIL!

Suddenly all the updates started to fail... these are the 4 pending updates
that will not successfully install...

Security Update for Proofing Tools 2003 (KB921585)
Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB925534)
Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB925257)
Security Update for Outlook 2003 (KB924085)

Thus far I've...
looked in Add/Remove Programs in the control panel and none of these are
listed.
also manually downloaded each of them and tried to individually install
each, each still fail.

Any other suggestions?

I was seeing the same problem (which is what brought me here). I was able to
get the updates installed by going to the office update site:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/do...incatalog.aspx

That seemed to get the updates installed (at least the three that I needed),
but I have no idea why the "regular" Windows update site didn't work.

Thanks Edward,

This got me started in the right direction... the first time I tried the
update each one again failed, I read through the suggestions and fixed the
problem by adding the path of my CD drive back to the registry under the
Microsoft office products. Re-ran the update and this time was successful!

Up and running now... Thanks again...

Thank you, EdwardU. Like ajmnews, my machine also began to receive updates
immediately after installing Office updates from
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/do...incatalog.aspx

A side note: I have on machine still on Windows 2000 (SP4). The update that
currently appears is KB915597, Definition Update for Windows Defender
(Definition 1.14.2033.5). Users who follow the link and successfully update
Office 2000 should be aware that Windows Defender no longer supports Windows
2000, and update KB915597 is destined to fail.

Just thought I'd post this...

information within,
re-ran the updates and the updates were successful.
