reinstall 3 times, restarted pc etc but after long waiting time all failed to
install with same error message. Errordetail: Code 800F0826

800f0826
Indicates a previous update has failed to install and thus preventing further
installations of updates. Affects only Windows updates.

Open Windows Update and review your history.

Locate the update/s that have failed to install (you can view further information about
the failed update/s by double-clicking the update )

If the information reveals 800f0826 move onto the next one until you get the update that
displays a different error code to 800f0826.

Once you have located the update that has failed and caused the problem, then that needs
to be fixed before you can install the other updates.

TaurArian,

Thanks for this suggestion. I have checked total history and all updates
before these ones have been installed. Since July 23 I get failure message
800F0826 starting with update KB935652. This one had been installed 2 days
later after giving same error message once more on 24st. Same happend with
KB905866. Didn't install for few days with error code 800F0826 and suddenly
install was ok yesterday.
The other ones which give this error message since July 23 are: KB932471,
KB938123, KB931099, KB936824, KB936782, KB936021, KB935280, KB936825,
KB933928, KB933579, KB937077, KB937143.

Any other suggestion how to solve this?

Unfortunately no, suggest you try the free Windows Update support incident request:
https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...spx?gprid=6527
Please do post back any responses that you may receive so it may help others with Vista
problems.

I made the request and they came back with following solution. I did all
steps and all updates are installed now. Sorry the post came from MS in the
Netherlands and was in Dutch so I have tried to translate it as good as I
can. There were 2 files attached I don't know how to post these or attach
these to this message. Let me know were I can post them so that other can use
those files.

+++Solution from MS+++
-Go to start and run, type services.msc .
-Disable following services (rightclick on the service and select stop):

* Automatic update service.
* Intelligent Backgroundstransfer service.
* Service for cryptography.
-close the screen.
-go to start run and type %windir% , press OK and delete map:
SoftwareDistribution.
-go to start run and type %windir%\system32 , press OK and delete map:
catroot2

-Unpack attached files, wui1.zip en wui2.zip
-Dubbleclick on wu.bat, as soon as this one is finished dubbleclick wu2.bat.

-Go to start and run, type services.msc .
-Enable following services (rightclick on the service and select start):

* Automatic update service.
* Intelligent Backgroundstransfer service.
* Service for cryptography.
-Close the screen and start Vista update service.

++++end of MS mail++++

For me this solution worked fine. After I did all steps, all updates are
installed without error codes

Hi Rico, the contents of the zip files I notice are .bat files
wu.bat & wu2.bat.
You should be able to open the files in notepad and paste the contents here or in the
alternative send the files to me for examination.
