Hi,

when I try to install Windows XP SP2 (I have XP home edition), everything
runs ok, I accept the terms (EULA terms) and then a window is open for a
while and afterwards the subject message appears and below says: the
following updates were not installed: Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Do you have any idea why this happens?

Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Alex

Not a 100% pro Alex but I had quite the same thing happening to me over and
over I tried, I finally figured it had a lot to do with my setting in
Updates, I changed it to let me know when there are updates but DO NOT
download them or install them, I then rebooted my computer and went to this
link--http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=049c9dbe-3b8e-4f30-8245-9e368d3cdb5a&displaylang=en
-- and downloaded the 266mb file (only because I was waiting for an answer
myself from tech support for days and days already) I know they tell you the
best way is to let auto updates do it for you but... I wanted it a done deal
so I downloaded it to my desktop then installed it, I have had NO problems
with it and I have it working on 2 computers just fine, both WindowsXP Home
edition, They say Microsoft has a smaller file out now but you have to let
updates do it for you, I didnt mind the size of the file and since
everything has been working Great, I figure I did ok --- good luck!!
