Updates won't stay hidden after selecting one to do so?

So I don't want MS's un-secure crap of a program for Malicious spyware
removal... so when it pops up in the updates list.. I hide it.

BUT, the very next sweep it does for updates... it retrieves it all over
again and it pops right back out of hiding to spite me! What... the....
heck?!? So how do I tell this lazily-coded program to not retrieve it ever
again? I doubt someone will know, and I'm not going to THROW AWAY more money
to this greedy and dim-witted monopolizer JUST to simply e-mail the
incompetent MS employees for help that they cannot give... Are they serious?
They want you to pay $50 just to E-MAIL THEM?! SO, hopefully one of you out
there, our only sources of help and the REAL troubleshooters, will have an
answer. Thanks to the community, and NO-THANX MS.

And no, I'm not being abusive, or violating the terms... as I'm free to
include my opinions because they help the rest of the community understand
the situation I'm in (And, we're ALL in when we have problems not addressed
by a company that built a horrible OS so they could charge for
troubleshooting, THEN "cover that up" by making a very disorganized and vague
support system) regarding needing help for my problem. So don't get any crazy
ideas

Thank you community, you're the best!

-KB

You realize it changes every month.
You realize that last month it removed many of the Antivirus 2009 bogus
malware off of machines?

Microsoft® Malware Protection Center : MSRT Review on Win32/FakeSecSen
Rogues:
http://blogs.technet.com/mmpc/archiv...en-rogues.aspx

548,000 removals. Not bad for a lazy programmer, ya think?

Why do you specifically consider this update an "unsecure crap of a
program". What specifically is unsecure about it?

It's free, it's not costing you anything, unless of course you are in
the AU and downloading it but then you are paying the ISP not Microsoft
so exactly how are you spending more money when you install it?

If you distrust Microsoft this much run Ubuntu. Seriously.

Yes I'm sorry to the rest of the readers of this community I have an
attitude. But yours tonight rubbed me the wrong way.

To me every month I run that Malicious software removal tool is an "up
yours" to the bad guy. On my machines they don't find anything. On
yours, who knows, they might.

Run it, and when nothing is found say "yeah, I'm clean".

Are you talking about Automatic Updates, Windows Update, or Microsoft Update?

In any case, the symptoms you describe are probably because a *new* MSRT is
released each month. Each of these is a different update, so will need to be
hidden separately if (for some bizarre reason known best to yourself) you don't
want to run it.

Harry.
