updates wrong after reinstall of millenium

hi

due to various errors i reinstalled windows millenium from CD over
existing copy ( but did not format drive as i wanted to see if i could keep
all installed programs etc)

windows updates shows a whole list of updates going back 3 years as
installed, but are they actually still on the PC or are they lost and how can
i tell?

if they are lost can i reset update list somehow so they will reload and
install? cheers

If IE 6 was installed and was not uninstalled, then the system has what
is known as "version soup".

The updates are *not* installed at this point in time. IE is now in a
"version soup" state.
Hate to say this but, at this point it would appear as your only
recourse is to format and reinstall ME.
