Updates WU

I have ran Windowsupdate on my desktop and it reported 6 updates and I go to
do the same on my notebook and it reported 0

What Windows versions are on the two machines?

The same versions on both machines
I finally got the notebook to detect the updates today which were 8, the
desktop this morning was 6 and last night no updates were available on
either machines, go figure

The WU/MU servers can suffer from excessive demand on Patch Tuesday and
sometimes for several days thereafter (especially when there are problems
with one or more of the updates like there were this week).

Assuming WinXP, just configure Automatic Updates properly and wait for the
notification. It'll show up eventually. <w>
