UPDATES for XP SP2

From the day I installed WMP10 on my XP SP2 machine till
the day the GDI thing appeared, I saw only 3 recommended
updates for XP SP2.

Why is t6his happenning?

Is it because XP SP2 is so secure or because MS has no
thing for it right mnow.

Is MS developping new versions of some software like MSN
MESSENGER 7 or NETMEETING 4?
