updates for xp?????

does anyone no when the updates for xp will be stopping as i have just gone
to vista on the advice of a local computer engineer, after killing him (joke
but only just ) i really really dont like vista it is unstable and horrible
to navigate, i really want to go back to xp but am an avid gamer and if they
are in fact stopping the updates for xp then i dont want to be on an
operating system that is updatable. any information would be cool thanks

See support life Cycle here..... though updates for XP are likely to be few
and far
between after the OEM issue expiration in June, 08.

I can't help you, but does it matter?

I'm quite happy with my computers XP, surely any major bugs out by now. I
see people using windows 95 and 98 still and they not having problems.
I see voodoomagic gives 2009/2014 for support I guess I will have got a new
PC by that later date. My other PC with XP as well is 3 years old and
allready had 2 major repairs so if that goes again in the bin it goes. So
to me the operating system lasting longer than the PC.
