I would like to buy a 64 bit computer and would like to transfer the software
from
my 32 bit computer. The new computer will be my only active computer. the
old one I will use for parts. Is there any program that will do this without
having to find the disk and reinstall all the programs on the old computer.
The new computer will have VIsta and the old one has Windows xp

Unless it's something very simple that does not require registry entries...
your software will need to to installed on your new machine.

If you no longer have the cd's then at least you now have to opportunity
to check first to make sure your software is Vista compatable.

Scurry

You will be required to reinstall all of your programs on the new computer
if it will have a 64bit operating system.

You're going from a 32 bit to a 64 bit OS. Even moving programs from a 32
bit to a 32 bit will require a reinstall for all but the simplest ones.
Your programs will need to be reinstalled from original media.
