I want to take advantage of the DFS replication in 2003 R2
However I am currently running Services for Unix 3.5 already and R2 changes
these values.
Is there a way to just extend AD for just the DFS part of R2

You run adprep on the schema master for your domain, then you run setup2
from the second disk of the R2 set, then you have to go into control panel
add remove programs and select to install DFSR and let it install.

Are you saying the Schema update to the schama master affects Service for
Unix?

The R2 schema updates include Services for Unix. We already have the schema
extended for Services for Unix. The R2 extention changes
SFU to a more compliant standard. That is why I was hoping I could just do
the DFSR part of the schema extention

No you can't use R2 without the schema update. You might want to setup a
server with SFU and test the R2 schema update yourself.
