Upgrading 98 to XP

I currently use Win98 and am considering upgrading to XP. If I do that will I
lose all the 98 software I have installed? Will I have to re-install
everything?

If you upgrade, you shouldn't lose anything. Back up your data just in
case, though.

It would always be better to do a clean installation, though, even though it
will incur extra hassle in reinstalling stuff.

What sort of machine are you looking to put XP onto?
