Will Upgrading Premium to Business Retain Premium's Features?

The Vista Edition Comparison Table [1] implies running the Business Edition
Upgrade on a Home Premium installation may wipe out a bunch of features
provided with Premium.

Amongst other features, like Media Center, DVD Maker and Movie Maker for
example which are shown in the table for Premium but not for Business
Edition.

Gees, is this really what happens when upgrading from one edition to
another?

It will do exactly that. If you want all features of Vista, you have to
upgrade to Ultimate.

What you get depends upon which upgrade path is taken.

There is no "upgrade" path from Windows Vista Home Premium
to Windows Vista Business edition. If you actually want to upgrade
to the next level, then purchase the upgrade version of Vista Ultimate.

Its one or the other in this case, if you want the best of both worlds,
Vista Ultimate would be the appropriate choice.

What do you want that's in business and not in premium? To be honest the
"Business" edition is purely a price advantage for business users, your
choices are XP home and XP pro with Premium and Ultimate.

Actually, the current Action Pack says it includes Vista Business Edition
Upgrade and only Business Edition Upgrade which is somewhat ridiculous
considering its the only desktop client amongst a shitload of other servers
and so on.

Fax and Scan but mostly Complete Backup and Restore is why I wanted Business
Edition.

Well I guess FAX software as an add on will cost as much as Ultimate in
the end, but for backups I do not think Acronis can be beaten - a lot
here swear by it as do I. Honestly don't think you will gain anything
there. See what others think, I have not used the Fax software, some is
pretty expensive so see what comments you get on the Vista version...

Get SnappyFax and Acronis TrueImage for your Home Premium setup.. do a
search for them. They are better products than the Vista offerings..
