Hello!

I went to Start, Control Panel, Security Center, Windows Firewall, Change
Settings, Exceptions & couldn't find "UPnP Framework" using Windows Vista
Ultimate 32-bit. How do I make "UPnP Framework" appear using Windows Vista?
This is all the question I have & hope to hear from you soon.

Goodbye!

I want UPnP to be working. I'm trying to find it because certain programs
are giving me block access like ftp & IRC. I want to allow & open ports.

Ok.. let me explain...

UPNP on windows does not work like that... UPNP on windows is when you are
using INTERNET CONNECTION SHARING
in other words you are sharing an internet connection to other comptuers via
your LAN and using Vista as a software router.
So the UPNP service in windows is all about the internet connection service
and nothing else.

The UPNP you want to turn on is the one on your router... IF your router
supports this and the programs are indeed UPNP compatible then it will work,
other than that, all you will have to do is unblock a program once the
windows firewall prompts you to unblock it (if you are using the windows
firewall that is)

if you want to forward ports manually there is a very good site here
www.portforward.com

As in going to Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Service, UPNP Host
Device? I have this enabled: by clicking Properties, Started, Automatic &
Local Service & OK. This is the 1 you're referring to the answer is yes.

Allows UPnP devices to be hosted on this computer. If this service is
stopped, any hosted UPnP devices will stop functioning and no additional
hosted devices can be added. If this service is disabled, any services that
explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

I notice that UPnP on Windows XP & Vista are very different. If you use the
Yahoo search engine, type on the search engine box, UPnPTest.exe, you'll get
an idea of what I'm referring to. I was wondering if it's alright to post
any link here: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/dc?text=1

Another useless post from Frank. If it doesn't have any thing to do with
sucking MSFT's a hole, do everyone a favor and STFU.
