URGENT..configuration problems on start up

On switching on my pc - Configuration Stage 3 0f 3 - 0% Do not turn off
coputer shows.....and stays like this for FOUR HOURS !! this has happened
over the past three days. Also when I turn off pc, it shows Stages 1 & 2
configuration and the PC stays on for another long period.l

Please help? I am not willing o turn off the pc for fear of this occuring
again.
