Urgent Microsoft File Server Migration Toolkit question

I ran the FMTK and copied over a bunch of shares from one server to another.
I had not yet finalized the project. I wanted to just run another
validation, so I clicked back a couple times and when I tried again it said
there was no enough space. I am guessing that it is not recognizing that I
already copied the data over. Is this the case? I can't proceed to Copy
again? I don't want to have to delete all the data and then copy it all over
again. How can I get around this?

Hello KeithK,

Just to get you correct, during the copy you where able to click sometimes
the back button in the FSMT console and now you have problems to go on with
copying?

There are three phases 1) setup (validate), 2)Copy, and 3) Finalize. I
completed a copy and was prompted to finalize. At this step I know I can
click back once to run another copy, but if I click back two times I get back
to step one where it offers me to validate my settings before I copy. I went
back to this step and then when I tried to continue I was not able to because
it said I did not have enough space.

I think the reason why it thought that I did not have enough space, was that
my original copy took about 80% of space on the drive. Therefore it saw only
20% remaining when it tried to validate it again. Suggesting to me that it
was not intelligent enough at this point to tell that I was copying over the
same shares.

Hello KeithK,

Hello, see this posting about preparing a shared folder in the target from
a backup and then using the original source to copy only changed data. Maybe
it gives you a hint how to prevent the additional copy phase.

Go to the last answer from "Vincent Xu":
