URL name vs Drive letter name

we often give reference to diferent drives on our network. however my J drive
may be someone else's K drive. Is there a way to set the default address
referenced to show the UNC.name vs the Drive letter? or a file/hyperlink
may reference another drive. It gives the drive letter. I have to go in
and change that address manaully.
