USB 2.0

Hi,
tried to install my new Maxtor Personal Storage 3100 but my windows media
center will not recognize the USB device. Afther a series of trials i note
that it recognizes it only once but the whole system hangs. Quite a few times
the desktop gets messed up and shows a restore button that I use to recover
it.

Finally I found a fix called Microsoft QFE (892050) Update for HP Digital
Entertainment Center. I sounds very promising since it addresses problems
with USB 2.0 devices not being recognized. Exactly my problem, but the
problem is that this fix does not the job.
