USB Device Malfunction

I have been running VHP for a year with no problems of any significance.
When I do have issues, I usually find a solution here.

So here is the new issue. (on VHP 64bit)

I generally put my computer to sleep before bed, or before leaving for
work, and it has always come back perfectly.
Starting last week, it began tro make that sound it makes when you plug
in or unplug a USB device. Then it tells me that a USB Device (Always my
mouse) has malfunctioned and won't restart.

I basically have to restart (cold) Vista.

Why would I suddenly be having a problem like this now? And what
possible solution is there?

Sounds like you might need to update your BIOS/Chipset.
