OK Chris,
I think I figured this out. Go into Firewall and check the Exceptions tab.
There check if wcescomm and wcessmngr are listed. In my case they are. The
Firewall is not blocking them. Also, I opened Norton to make sure they
weren't in the quarantine list which they weren't. So I can be assured that
this is not my problem. When I get my device back from repair, it will be
interesting to see how it syncs with the new port installed. I took my sync
cable over to a friend who has the exact same device and the cable worked
with her's so I know it isn't that either.
It is obvious my problem is something more involved -along with my infared
problems I am sure I am getting closer to a solution. The newsgroup has
helped me get to the matter little by little. I will be sure to post results
of success as well when that happens so others may benefit as well.
I have a lot of options to try yet through you and Beverly so I am getting
closer to an answer.
