::I am running Vista Ultimate 64 bit version. ::
::I have an external USB drive – Maxtor OneTouch 2 that is
working on my old XP Pro. Computer.::
:evice Manager does recognize the drive and it also is seen in the
BIOS. Disk Management does show my external USB drive as an unknown and
not initialized.::
::When I try to initialize the drive I get an error message
“Incorrect function”.::
::::
I already deleted the partition but still get the error message.

:oes anybody know what to do? ::

After you deleted the partition, did it show as an Unallocated space?

If so, right click it and create a new partition. ( a new simple volume )

You have to have a partition to initialize. Create a partition then
initialize it.

::In device manager it is identified exactly for what it is: Maxto
OneTouch 2 USB Device
In Disk Management utility it is identified as Disk # Unknown, 189.9
GB, Not Initialized.:
::On my old system which runs XP Pro. It works just fine. It has
password protection and perhaps that is the problem
Is there any way to erase this disk completely so it would be like i
just came from the manufacturer? :
::Thank you guys for your help. :
