Hi, does anyone know how I can get 3 external USB drives to Raid 5 under W2k
Server?

I would take them out of their caddies and mount them internally, but I
already have 4 mounted their, 3 of which are raided.

There must be a solution, either through the operating system or with
another tool.

Please help. I said we could do it to my husband, and feel a bit of a fool
at the moment.

Thanks in advance.

Christine

Swallow your pride Christine - even if it can be done it's a really, really
bad idea!

Software RAID alone is a bad idea. External USB drives will not have the
performance necissary either - it'd be a dog.

there are solutions for sale that give you RAID out of the box
meaning it is hardware implemented from within
and then hooked up to a USB or even an Ethernet connection

they'll cost ya, depending on the size of the disks inside

just google for USB RAID and contact a shop nearby ;-)

grtz
