USB flash memory can't be removed

Everyday, I use two USB flash memory sticks to sync data with my HD. Many
times, even after the sync is over, I can't remove one or both of them.
Windows says they're being used. I can't find which program is using them.
How can I find that, in order to stop it? Additionally: how can I find which
programs have files/folders open at a given moment?

Thanks in advance.

Rosivaldo.

Thanks for the reference. I'll have a look on it. But as far as I've seen,
not always the problem is with not-yet-flushed-data. Some times, some
program keeps my USB drive "locked" and I can't do anything, because I don't
know which program is doing that. What can I do in those cases?

Use the Reliablilty and Performance Monitor and open the Disk function and
sort by File. You can see which process is accessing your USB device.
Alternately use this
