Hi,
Of course is space limitted, but suppose that will do it as backup.

Is the quality as good on an USB stick as on an external HDD?

Regards

I would'nt rely on a stick for backup, but then I dont rely on backups to a
single form of media either

All of my files on my laptop like pictures, music, and other stuff i
on a maxtor 320gb external, haven't had any problems with it. I als
carry around a 2gb usb flash drive full of utilities and that hasn'
crashed... Just remember, if its electronic, it can and will fail an
any given moment..

If I had to choose DVD backup or a external drive that had sufficient
space on it, I would choose the external drive without hesitation. DVD
can scratch - rendering the information useless - where as a drive is
pretty stable.

Archival backups should be done to high quality CD/DVD/Blu-ray media.
The integrity of the back-ups should be verified periodically and fresh
copies made.
If you are totally anal, that is.
All hard drives and all USB devices will eventually fail at the worst
possible time.

Good points, I've just never had a problem with disk drives. But to put
it on a dvd and a external HDD isn't a bad idea either. That way if one
media form fails there is a back up for a back up...
