I just added a WD Caviar 250 HDD(usb enclosure) and can't get it t
work. It shows he drive on disk management and says it needs to b
initialized. When I try to intialize it says incorrect operation. Th
manual says to have it set as master is that correct? Help please

If the manual says to set it as master then that is right. I depends on the
controller chip in the enclosure. Maybe check the jumpers again. Is the
drive IDE or SATA? Does it work properly when connected to an IDE or a SATA
port in a computer?

Some drives, when used in enclosures, can't use jumpering as described in
their manuals. Try removing the jumpers - so it's not set as Master, Slave
or CS.

I find that this sometimes works with WD drives in enclosures.
