My USB ports running under Win 98, fail after anything from 1 to 60 minutes.
Power to broadband USB modem fails.
Unplugging and reconnecting seems to work, but then reverts to a failure .
Checked system for power says AOK.
Drivers checked and re-loaded.
Anyone know why power is suddenly cut off - woul dnot seem to be an issue
with motherboard as other USB connection (to camera i sfine) and swapping
same does not cure problem.

In Device Manager look at the USB Root Hub Properties, Power Management tab.
You may be allowing the computer to turn off the hub.

try each appliance seperately.if they work for a decent period on their own
then it is a power issue.you should try a powered usb hub. it worked for me
