This is probably an old problem to you all but it is really bugging me. As a Vista Home premium user, I have a Samsung ML-4500 Laser printer which has old style serial port connectors - I have bought a 'serial port to USB port' cable which works quite well except for M/Soft-Office-Excel output and related output (explain later) For some reason, while I can print Word Files, whenever I try to print an Excel worksheet the application goes into a 'not responding state' and also takes anything else that is running ie. Word, into the same state. As for related output - I have tried to copying the worksheet into Word and saving it as a Word Document but when I try to print this (remembering that Word doc's print OK) it goes into the 'not responding state' and takes everything else that is running with it!! Please Help.
Additional - I have just downloaded OpenOffice and the printer worked just fine with this - so as far as I am concerned MS Office can go stuff itself I'm using OpenOffice in future - (the colours seem better too.!!!!!!
