Is there any way to edit the safely remove hardware list so my flash card
reader will not show up. The card reader is installed to usb port 1 on the
motherboard.

You don't need to get rid of these drives. F,G,H, and I, the removabl
drives. They are for camera cards like smart media, Compact flash etc
you have a multimedia card reader on your computer with 4 little slots
for the different types of media cards. They don't do anything until yo
plug something into them. I'm sure they could be removed, but why? The
use NO resources until they are in use

Or If "you" must

Actually he easiest thing to do would ve to just disable the drives i
the device manager
right click on My Computer, click on Manage, when that window opens u
click on Device Manager and then Disk drives. on my system all the car
reader "Drives" are called USB Mass Storage Devices. Or What I do i
when I boot my computer I "just" right click the Safely Remove Hardwar
Icon (bottom right) and check the box show all device components an
STOP them and it's gone..

If it's just the "icon" in the systray that bothers you (bottom right
here is a small free program that allows you to "hide" that icon an
"restore" it when you need it

Hardware' Icon' (http://www.iconremover.com/

Hope these tips helped..............AR
