USB stick problems - worse than autoplay vanishing!

Not only does my USB stick no longer autoplay, and, like the others, there is
no way to re-do it through the control panel as the device is not listed,
even when plugged in, I have also the added annoyance of a message coming up
when I try to open the stick through MyComputer - it says 'Application not
found' and the only way I can access it is by right clicking!
Help!

Try formatting the device and see if it will work again.

Have found the answer - put a usb hub in the usb slot, then put my pen in
that; when I took out the hub, the pen worked and auto-played! Thanks for the
answer, but sorted!
