Hi, Herb.
Winston is much more expert than I and he has already answered your
question.
I'd just like to add a friendly tip. The "D" was dropped from "WLMD" over 3
years ago when Microsoft went through a renaming frenzy while Windows Live
was still in beta. The application is now Windows Live Mail, often
abbreviated WLM - or WLMail when we need to differentiate it from WLMsgr.
Whenever we see a post asking about "WLMD", we automatically assume that the
poster is a bit behind the times.
(Yes, I know the word "desktop" is still in the name of this newsgroup.
Something about how hard it is to change the name of a Usenet newsgroup.)
