Quickly

Why are there so many commands that are completely undocumented bu
extremely useful (and not in a gui at all) like sfc, bootrec, etc.? An
for the MBR, why are there 10's of freeware programs that make
multi-OS/multi-boot easy to put in the mbr and os selector, but M
doesn't give us diddly? Instead we get Flip-3d, which I had to look u
online to even find out how to use

Can anyone read the sfc CBS.log file, in all of it's 10MB glory

Why are people making cash writing little programs that let you chang
just about every aspect of Vista (except nice things like making
shadow-volume span, or putting it on a different disk/partition) and M
can't write a simple GUI for these for us

Why can't Vista's own "Ultimate" version do a backup that contains th
mbr, os selector, MFT's, offsets, etc? In fact, no one does this
although all you would have to do is find abs sec 63 and copy some hex.

Why does acronis let you resize the partitions anyway you want, bu
Vista won't? Where is the new fdisk replacement? Why does Vista sa
it's doing a format when Acronis can recover the entire "formatted" dis
in about a second

Moving backgrounds are nice, but where is the functionality and, eve
more, why do I have to download bcdedit -- this is someone MS should do

Finally, don't use your install disk too much because although it ha
about $10 worth of holographics on it, it scratches if you look at i
hard enough and a replacement is $35 (though you can make your own i
you know how for about $0.10 a DVD)

Oh, and thanks for putting the migration wizard in a sub/sub/sub folde
on the DVD and not on the title page when I instal Vista in the firs
place

These are such small things. Why won't they fix them

And someone please tell me how to do a cmd-line move of the mbr.
don't want to go through ten reboots -- it's just a few 100 bytes of he
at abs sector 63. Is it really that hard to copy

I'm using WAIK (free download from Microsoft web), and I built myself a
WinPE DVD and UFD.
I'm now using bootsect command to recreate boot sector and/or MBR. Works
great for me. I don't need any freeware boot managers.
