A useless pocketpc after upgrade to Outlook 2007

Okay I had Office 2003 and upgraded. I have a HP Ipaq 1955 a few months old
with WM 5. After upgrading I noticed one consistent problem. Nothing which
was entered in Office 2007 will show up on the PocketPC after syncing. Old
data (like contacts and appointments) which were entered in Outlook 2003
(before the upgrade) will show up.

I've looked at dozens of sites, done soft and hard resets, deleted
partnerships and used every version of ActiveSync from 3.8 to 4.5 (yes even
the newest one which was releases on 2/13). Nothing makes a difference. I
even uninstalled Office 2007, went back to 2003 (worked fine) and reinstalled
Office 2007 (nothing)...

Any suggestions????

Hi,
After you upgraded to Office 2007 did you install ActiveSync 3.5?
ActiveSync 3.5 is the latest version for Windows XP.

You do mean ActiveSync 4.5, don't you?

Been struggling with this issue for weeks now on my WM5 device. Tried the
latest ActiveSync 4.5 today, but still no joy. Works fine with Outlook 2003,
but with Outlook 2007 it seems to create lots of blank contacts, based on
what is already on the pda, or lots of blank appointments against today's
date. It seems unable to delete the existing entries on the pda, even when I
create a new partnership. I don't want to have to do a hard reset again, so
it's back to Office 2003 for another few months.

From the forums, I sense that this is quite a major issue, yet there does
not seem to be much of an acknowledgement of the problem from Microsoft?
