Yesterday I shared my music folder with my girlfriend who has an account on
my computer. Ever since I have done that every time she has tried to log in
to her account it comes up as a black screen and will not show anything else.
The guest account on my computer still comes up but in a solid blue screen.
Neither one of the accounts has the start menu or nothing on the screen
except the solid color. My account seems to uninfected ny this any help
would be helpful.

I do not understand it. On one of my machines I have exactly your situation
except for the fact the the user is my secretary. How do you guys all get to
this point?

What does it mean? "My account seems unaffected?" or what? Kind of hard to
fathom.

Malware infestation?

it both accounts worked at least once then the malware infection is likely
the cause. It depends where your girlfriend went on the web, if she clicked
some buttons unwittingly and installed things she was not supposed to be
installing, just out of poor knowledge of what she was doing.

If both accounts never worked properly, consider deleting her account and
restarting it from scratch following MS recommendations strictly. Google for
it.

Shared how? Normally just making your Music folder shared wouldn't do
anything harsh like this. Since this happened only yesterday, the first
thing I'd try is a System Restore to when things worked. If that fixes
things, you're done.

If it doesn't fix things, make a new user account and see how that looks. If
it is OK, then log into an account with administrative privileges and copy
your girlfriend's data over to the new account. I don't suggest copying all
the settings when an account has been corrupted. BTW, disable the Guest
account. It is a system account not meant for when you are feeling
hospital. Make a "Visitors" account or the like for when you want a friend
to use your computer and make it a standard user.

As for wanting to share your music folder, the best way to share data
(music, pictures, files, etc.) with other users on the computer is to put
it in the Public folder.

If you need more help, post back with lots of details about what you did,
what you tried, what the results were.
