Hello

Please can you assit with the following,
When users log on the the PCs the start menu do not show the run option and
in the internet explorer properties the connection tab is not there. When the
admin logs on run and connection tab is there. This happen for all the users
on all the computers.

How can I change this to show the run and connection tab?

The PCs has XP pro the the server has Server 2003 Std Ed.

Hello Zak,

Seems that there is a GPO configured to remove the access to them, so talk
to the admin.

Best regards

Hello Meinolf

I had a look at the Administrative Tools and could not find the GPO in the
list.
Also they do not have an admin, Our company has been provding support to
them since last December, we have setup a proxy to control the internet, and
I need the connection tab to enable it.

Is there any other options beside the GPO to allow access.

Hello Zak,

I assume this is a domain environment, so install GPMC on the 2003 server
and start it. Yo hsould see the structure of the domain and under Group policy
objects you can see all existing ones listed, at least the Default domain
policy and Default domain controllers policy.

Within the existing policies check the following:
Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Internet
Explorer, Internet Control Panel, in the right pane "Disable the connections
page"

User Configuration, AdministrativeTemplates, Start Menu & Taskbar, in the
right pane "Remove Run menu from Start Menu"

GPMC:
