Hello, here is my problem:

'[image: http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/553/strangefx5.jpg]'

I want to change the name of the folder "Y". The name of my user
profile is "Chris", it's under "C:\Users\Chris". The folder named "Y"
used to have the name "Chris" too, but now it's "Y" as you see.
Somehow it changed to "Y". I don't know why and it's impossible to
rename the folder. I would like to change it back to "Chris".
Anyone could help me? I would appreciate it. Greetings

If you have the following key in the registry:

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp lorer\CLSID\{59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}]

Delete it.

Have you added the sysinternals REGJUMP command to your path?

You deal with reg keys a lot, so I suppose you know about it, but I have
only started using it recently. I look at the list of commands they have
every few months/years, and I tend to find ones that I find useful, and
seemed to have missed on my searches.

ss.

Thanks Keith. It worked. Actually I just changed the Value of the Key.

I wonder what program did the rename, or how/why the change happened.
Anyway. So long...

You're welcome. The key doesn't exist by default, but would be created if
you changed the icon for the folder. But it shouldn't rename the folder.
