User folder not Recognizing Folder Location

Vista Business Admin Username = "BOB" on an updated, freshly installed
32-bit PC.

Problem:

I partition my hard drive into a system "c:" and a data partition "Z:".
I moved my music, pictures, and videos folder from the user "BOB" folder
located on c: to my data partition "z:" by the right-clicking >
properties > location method.

The c: drive has no extra room for any more data while the z: drive has
plenty.

But when I try to move a large music library folder from my passport to
the music folder on z:, I get a "There is not enough space on BOB. You
need an additional 2gb to copy these files" message.

Things I have DONE:

I have tried this with all 3 folders that I have moved to the z: drive.
No difference
I checked both the explorer bar and the location tab in the properties
dialog and they both show that the folder is in the right location "z:"
I have tried changing the ownership of z: (and all of its subfolders)
from SYSTEM to "BOB" and redoing the folder movement again via
properties>location method but no change.

The only way I can move the large files to z:/music is by clicking
computers > z:> music. Clicking on start menu>BOB>music will not work.

The PC is thinking that the MUSIC folder is in the c: drive only when
moving files to the MUSIC folder. Moving small files to MUSIC is okay
since the c: drive has enough space. But of course, the files when done
moving is actually in z:

Please help.

S.

Addition

I tried redoing the folder movement in safe mode. No change

I checked the registry files for the moved folders
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion
Explorer \ User Shell Folder

Everything seem to be in order in the registry and yet...

Hi,

Z:\ has space, but C:\ does not, that in itself will continue to cause
issues. A system volume still needs free space for expansion. When shifting
files, you use %temp% space, and this is still on C:\, hence the error
message as insufficient space exists. The solution would be to alter the
location of the user %temp% folder under the environmental variables in the
advanced system controls.
