Hi
Does it actually log you off, or does it just drop to the login screen?
I can go to the login screen three ways.
a) Logging off - closes all open programs.
b) Switch user - existing programs are still open, the login screen lists
the user as logged on.
c) Lock - existing programs are still open, the login screen only lists
one user, and describes the user as locked. Looks alot like the standard
login screen if you only have one user account.
You can also get the locked screen if the screen saver cuts in and you
have it set to ask for a password on resume, of if the computer sleeps, or
hibernates, and the power profile requires as password on resume.
You should also get a vista background with text saying what it is doing
as it goes back to the login screen.
Does it take you directly to the login screen or does it take you to a
blank screen untill you press a key?

Do you have a screen saver set? Is it set to go to the logon afterwards?
If you turn it on and set it for 1 minute, or 3 minutes does this have an
effect?
If you turn the screen saver on, set of 1 minute , and set it to require a
password does it do the same as the automatic logout.
NOTE: when investigating you may need to leave the screen saver on for a
short while to get the logon screen when you resume.

Does the time change if on external power?
Does the time change if you use a different power profile - max battery
versus max power?
Does the time change if you change the display off, sleep, and hibernation
times?
Is the power profle set to require a password after sleep or hibernate?

Do you have pointsec, or any other disk encryption software installed?
Has it allways done this?
What in detail happens when it "logs you off?"
