Alright, I had my desktop sent back to Gateway because they gave me
desktop with a horrible sounding hard drive. Upon sending it back, I a
now "Valued Customer" instead of being greeted by my real name.
changed the user name, but my C:\Users folder is still "Valued Customer
and it is recognized as my default name on applications like Trillian
How can I change this

You can't change it. You have to create a new name with all the admin
rights. Now log in with the new name and then delete the one you do not
want.

Yes, another Vista feature!

There's a "rename user account" option but it leaves the folders as
is. You'd have to do some hacking to change it. The new account route
is a better choice.

This is not "another Vista feature". This behavior remains as it always has
been since NT 4. When you want to complain about an operating system's
behavior, it would be smarter to actually know what you're talking about.
