using 'delete' in My Documents causes 'COPY'!

I recently downloaded 30 photos from e-mail into My Documents.After copying
to CD I went back to delete them,but ever since when I press delete the
number of copies doubles(now 3200+).Just after the window opens up saying'are
sure you want to send to recycle bin'another window pops up saying 'copying
to' but it is to brief to check out properly.Help!
