Using existing e-mail address for Windows Live

I am attempting to sign up for Windows Live using an existing e-mail
address, *myname*@verizon.net. I check the radio button that says "Use
your own e-mail address" and type my address into the box. I then get
green text that says "Once you complete signup you will receive an
e-mail message at *myname*@verizon.net with instructions for
confirming your Windows Live ID." So far so good.

I go through all the rest of the page, entering requested/required
information. As soon as I click the "I Accept" button, I get red text
that says "The portion of your e-mail address that follows the @
symbol is part of a "reserved domain" such as live.com, hotmail.com,
msn.com or passport.com. Please type a different e-mail address."

Why?

I wonder if it has anything to do with the Verizon-MSN service? I.e.,
Verizon users have the option to choose an "ISP Partner", one of three,
actually: AOL, MSN, or Yahoo!.

I'm having the same problem but don't seem to be able to create Live Ids
for our domain (TastingMaster.com).

Any suggestions?

Neil
