My brand new computer has Vista home premium, my old computer had XP Pro. I
had a computer tech try to fix the problem on the old one where the computer
would not boot up but he failed to fix the problem as both CD drives were not
working.

I installed my old HD into an external HD ADS model USBX-833 to try and
access my data and files to transfer to the new computer but am having
problems after connection as it says that "user does not have access
privileges" when I click on the files.

I came across a question and answer on how to take ownership of a file or
folder in Windows XP, but it does not seem to work. Any suggestions on how
to get my old HD to open up?

Thanks!
