hello..
you will need a special FLV to AVI (or other type) of file, converter.
I have seen and used many of them... have you done a search on google for
this???
Here is a good one
http://www.flvsoft.com/flv_to_video/
I would NOT suggest you use a microsoft app like media encoder to do this..
its full of troubles...
To view FLV, I use the outstanding gomplayer
www.gomplayer.com
to download them from youtube and video google( and others) or even convert
them on-the-fly to various formats I use free download manager that
supports downloading and converting them
www.freedownloadmanager.org
I hope this is of some use to you
